FAQ
What’s the difference between a Notary Public and a Commissioner for Taking Affidavits?
A Commissioner can witness oaths/affirmations on affidavits and declarations. A Notary Public can do that andcertify true copies and complete notarial certificates recognized across jurisdictions. (I am appointed as a Notary Public in Ontario.)
Can you notarize documents from outside Canada?
Often yes, but requirements vary by country/institution. Send a sample for confirmation before booking.
Can you notarize for immigration forms?
Yes—common items include certified true copies and declarations. I do not provide immigration legal advice unless retained for that purpose.
Do you offer remote (online) notarization?
Remote commissioning is available for eligible affidavits/declarations using live video, identity verification, and electronic signatures. Some documents (e.g., many real estate/land transfer forms) must be done in person.
Do you draft letters (invitation, consent to travel)?
Yes, I can draft plain‑language templates tailored to your facts for a fixed fee.
What if my document is in a language other than English/French?
I can notarize if I can understand the document or if a reliable translation is provided. Certified translations may be required by the recipient.
Payment methods?
Interac e‑Transfer, major credit/debit cards, or cash. Receipts provided.
Accessibility?
Ground‑floor access available. Mobile service for hospitals/care homes upon request.
